Our venues and their food and beverage concessionaires have adopted an alcohol policy that is designed to protect guests and the community from alcohol-related incidents. In addition to our responsible alcohol service guidelines below, guests are expected to obey all state and local laws governing the purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. In addition, the following items are to be noted:

• Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into the venue; nor are they permitted to leave the venue with alcohol.
• The Pan American Center reserves the right to deny entry to anyone who appears to be impaired.
• For most events wristbands will be issued to the guest prior to the purchase of alcohol.
• All Guests who appear to be younger than the age of thirty-five (35) will be asked to show positive identification prior to being served alcoholic beverages. Acceptable forms of valid United States identification are: Driver’s License, Passport, State Issued I.D. Card w/ Photo, and Military I.D. w/ Photo.
• There shall be a maximum limit of two alcoholic beverages sold to each Guest, per purchase, per valid ID.
• The Pan American Center reserves the right to eject anyone under the age of twenty-one (21) who is observed to be in possession of, or consuming alcohol on the premises.
• Alcoholic beverages will not be served in containers larger than 24 ounces.
• At NMSU athletic events, service of alcohol will stop when the official game clock indicates 12-minutes until the end of the game for basketball and after the third game for volleyball, although alcohol sales can be terminated at any time at the discretion of the Pan American Center Arena management.
• At non NMSU athletic events, service of alcohol will stop one hour prior to the projected end of the show or 15 minutes after the headlining act has taken the stage.
• The Pan American Center and its food and beverage concessionaires will implement ongoing responsible alcohol management training sessions for its serving staff.

Animals are strictly prohibited from all events with the exception of trained service animals. For more information, please contact NMSU Special Events at (575) 646-4413.

Guests are not permitted to use artificial noise makers inside of the arena. NCAA regulations prohibit the use of artificial noise makers in an indoor facility for athletic events. They are a disturbance at any event, and can be particularly disrupting during graduation ceremonies.

There are no ATMs in our venues. The nearest ATM is located across University Avenue inside the McDonald’s restaurant. If you are familiar with the NMSU campus, there are also ATMs located in the Corbett Center Student Union.

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12"w x 6"D x 12"H; one gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar ok). All bags are subject to inspection upon entry and are subject to additional inspections within the venue. Please refer to Prohibited Items and Behavior for more information. Signs must be handheld, event-related, in good taste and cannot obstruct another guest’s view. They may not contain commercial messages, or logos and may not be hung off affixed venue structures. Signs on poles or sticks, or constructed of wood or metal material, are also not permitted. Management reserves the right to confiscate signs that are in violation of this policy.

For most events at our venues, cameras, video cameras, and audio recorders are not permitted. During NCAA events, these items are allowed. However, the use of flash photography or professional equipment is strictly prohibited. Each event’s policies are subject to change until the day of the event.

For most events ell phones are permitted as long as their use does not interfere with other guests’ enjoyment of the event. During non NMSU athletic events, please refer to Cameras /Video Cameras /Audio Recorders. The same policy is applied to cell phones. Guests that are in violation of this policy may be asked to erase all footage.

NMSU Special Events is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests. Our staff will proactively support an environment free from the following behaviors:

• Abusive, foul or disruptive language and obscene gestures.
• Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption.
• Fighting, taunting or threatening remarks or gestures.
• Sitting in a location other than the guest’s ticketed seat.
• Displays of affection not appropriate in a public setting.
• Obscene or indecent clothing.
• Any disruption to the progress of the event by the guest’s actions.

Guests are encouraged to report issues and concerns to a nearby event staff member or ask for a member of our management team. Guests can also call the Information Booth at (575) 646-6345 at the Pan American Center, or the Game Day Hotline at (575) 646-4413 at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Guests with floor tickets and/or tickets for the bottom half of the lower bowl that need assistance are allowed to use the elevator to get to their seat. However the policy is dependent on the type of the event.

Athletic Event Elevator Policy

• Elevator: The elevator is located in the south lobby. Teams and officials use the elevator during the game and although their movement is predictable, precautions have to be taken to ensure the safety of guests, teams, and officials.

There are no restrooms located on the floor. Restrooms are located on the main level for all events. If the restroom is needed during the athletic event, the elevator is usually readily available to go to the main level. However, the south tunnel staff member may hold traffic from going up the tunnel at certain points of the game to ensure the safety of the guest as well as the team or the officials. There may be some delay in getting to the elevator at certain times.

Non-NMSU Athletic Event Elevator Policy

• Elevator: The elevator is located in the south lobby. During a non NMSU athletic event the south tunnel is part of the backstage area. Guests that use the elevator will have to wait for a supervisor to make arrangements before they can be escorted through the backstage area and to their seat.

There are no restrooms located on the floor. Restrooms are located on the main level for all events.

Due to the contract that the NMSU has with Sodexo, outside food or beverages are never allowed in our facilities. Exceptions can be made for guests with medical conditions that warrant them to bring in their own food and/or drink. This includes a sealed bottle of water.

All guests looking to claim or report lost items should do so at the Information Booth at the Pan American Center, or Police Command at Aggie Memorial Stadium. Guests inquiring about lost items at previous events should call NMSU Special Events at (575) 646-4413 for information or notify us via email at panam@nmsu.edu. Items lost at prior events are held in our office for approximately 24 hours before being taken to the NMSU Police Station. NMSU Special Events cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items.

The entrance for the media is at the Pass Gate located at the SW entrance of the Pan American Center. At Aggie Memorial stadium, the media entrance is also at the Pass Gate located at the NW entrance. Only personnel with proper credentials may use this entrance. Upon entering, bags may be inspected.

NMSU Special Events and the NMSU Police Department work together to ensure the safety and protection of our staff and guests. The NMSU Police Department is responsible for the enforcement of criminal code infractions, liquor violations, and other NMSU regulations. During events, officers will patrol the facility to enforce the law, not building policies. Police Command at the Pan American Center is located on the concourse across from Section 107. At Aggie Memorial Stadium, is located outside the SW Entrance.

In conjunction with the NCAA and for the safety of our guests and employees, the following are prohibited:

• Smoking. This also includes e-cigarettes and vaporizers. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only (Please see Smoking Policy).
• Bags (Please see Bag Policy)
• Alcohol
• Animals (except trained service animals to aid guests with disabilities)
• Bottles, cans and beverage containers of any kind*
• Food items*
• Large Umbrellas (must be compact)
• Fireworks, firearms and weapons of any kind
• Knives of any length
• Laser Pointers Artificial Noisemakers
• Signs on sticks or poles, or larger than what one person can hold
• Cameras, tripods, and audio recorders (Please see Camera/Video/Audio Recorder Policy).
• Video cameras and the use of video capable devices (Please see Camera/Video/Audio Recorder Policy).
• Ticket scalping
• Loitering
• Abusive, foul or disruptive language
• Throwing objects
• Trespassing, soliciting, peddling and loitering
• Chairs, stools or other seating devices*
• Any other item or action deemed dangerous or inappropriate

At New Mexico State University venues, there is no re-entry to the venue for Special Events for any reason. A new ticket will need to be purchased to re-enter venue event. For athletic events, there is re-entry with your ticket stub.

Scalpers are prohibited from selling tickets on NMSU property. Anyone found scalping will be asked to leave the property and failure to do so may result in arrest for trespassing. Neither the public nor employees are to scalp tickets at any time.

All bags are subject to search as a condition of entry. Guests are also subject to pat down. If prohibited items are found, a supervisor will be notified immediately.

State laws prohibit smoking inside buildings at any time. NMSU Special Events also prohibits the indoor use of all legal items that emit vapor. During an event that allows re-entry a guest may step outside of the venue to smoke. At events in the Pan American Center that do not allow re-entry, a guest may smoke in the designated east entry to the Pan American Center. At Aggie Memorial Stadium, smoking is permitted at the entrances and on the upper ramps.

Guests and Team Members are prohibited from distributing banners, booklets, business cards, circulars, commercial advertising, flyers, folders, handbills, leaflets, notices, pamphlets, posters, stickers or any other written, printed and/or painted materials, without permission in advance from NMSU Special Events and NMSU Athletics. The same policy applies to selling of any items on NMSU campus. In addition, NMSU prohibits the placing of any of the above listed items on the windshields of parked vehicles.

Strollers are permitted at our venues. However, their use cannot inhibit guest movement or block any aisles. Smaller, umbrella-style strollers can be stored behind a seat as long as it does not create an obstruction for other guests. Larger strollers can be checked at the Information Booth in Section 110.

Guests are not permitted to throw objects such as beach balls, shoes, food, drinks, ice, coins, etc., within seating areas. This includes throwing items onto the court or stage. Throwing items onto the court during athletic events can cause accidents/injuries to guests, teams, or staff and is an NCAA offense which may result in a technical foul against the team. Guests found participating in such behavior may be ejected from the building.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for transporting guests from the entrance to their seating location. Guests are asked to supply their own wheelchair if they need one for the duration of the game, or any special event. Guests may arrange for wheelchair assistance by contacting an event staff member at any entrance. Guests needing assistance after the event should contact an event staff member, or visit the Information Booth in Section 110. More info.

Pan American Center offers wheelchair accessible seating at the venue at comparable prices and sight-lines. Patrons must have a reserved ticket designated for ADA seating areas. Please note: The number and types of accessible tickets vary by event. For assistance, please contact the Pan Am Box Office 575-646-1420.

Tickets for accessible seating should be purchased directly through ticketmaster.com by selecting the accessibility tab under the “filters” option for your preferred event.

In the wheelchair accessible areas, there will be removable folding chairs so wherever a wheelchair or scooter is needed the folding chair will be removed.
